Terms of Use

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to create an account. You’re responsible for everything that happens under your account, so keep the Google, Apple, Facebook or X account you sign in with secure, and tell us right away if you think someone else has used it.

Wogene lets people post listings and contact each other. We don’t own, sell, inspect or guarantee anything listed, we don’t hold payments, and we aren’t part of any agreement between buyers, sellers, landlords or tenants. Any deal you make is between you and the other person.

• Meet in a public place, bring someone with you, and inspect items before paying.
• Never send deposits, gift cards or wire transfers to someone you haven’t met.
• For housing, see the property in person and get the lease in writing before paying.

You’re responsible for what you post. Listings must be accurate, for real items or housing you have the right to sell or rent, and must follow the law. By posting, you give Wogene a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, resize and share your content (for example, showing your listing on the site, in the app, and in link previews) so we can run the Service. You keep ownership of your content, and you can delete it at any time.

Only post photos you took or have permission to use. Don’t post other people’s personal information without their consent.

You may not use Wogene to:

• Sell or advertise anything on our prohibited items list, including alcohol, drugs, tobacco and vapes, weapons, and counterfeit or stolen goods.
• Post housing ads that discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, familial status or disability, or any other characteristic protected by the Fair Housing Act or state law.
• Scam, mislead, harass, threaten or spam anyone, or post hateful, sexual or violent content.
• Impersonate someone, create fake listings, or post the same item many times.
• Copy listings from other websites or publications without the owner’s permission.
• Scrape, hack, overload or interfere with the Service, or get around our safety features.

You can report any listing and block any user. Blocked users can’t message you, and you won’t see their listings. We review reports and may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close accounts that break these Terms, with or without notice. Housing posts may be held for review before they appear.

Some listings are promoted (“Featured”) and appear on the home page. Featured placement is a paid advertising service; it doesn’t mean Wogene has checked or endorses the item or the seller. Promotion prices, length and any refund terms are shown before you pay.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, Wogene disclaims all warranties, and is not liable for the items, housing or conduct of any user, or for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages. If Wogene is found liable to you for anything, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid Wogene in the 12 months before the claim or US $100.

You agree to cover Wogene’s reasonable costs if a claim is brought against us because of your listing, your conduct, or your breaking these Terms.

You can delete your account at any time from your Profile page. This permanently removes your account, listings, photos and messages.

We may update these Terms. If we make important changes, we’ll post the new date at the top and, where appropriate, let you know in the app or by email. Continuing to use Wogene after changes means you accept them. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia and applicable US federal law.
