Privacy Policy

• Account details: your email address, name, city and optional profile photo. We don’t use or store passwords: you sign in with your Google, Apple, Facebook or X account, and that service confirms it’s you. Google shares your name and email address with us; Apple shares your name and either your email or a private relay address (if you choose “Hide My Email”); Facebook and X share your name and, if your account has one, your email address.
• What you post: listings, housing posts, photos, prices and descriptions. These are public.
• Messages: conversations with other users, so they can be delivered and so we can act on reports.
• Safety records: reports you file, users you block, and moderation actions.
• Technical data: basic logs our hosting providers keep automatically, such as IP address, device and browser type, and pages requested. We don’t use advertising trackers.

• To run the marketplace: show listings, deliver messages, and keep you signed in.
• To send service emails: account notices and alerts when someone messages you (you can turn message alerts off in your Profile).
• To keep the community safe: block prohibited items, review reports, prevent spam and fraud, and enforce our Terms.
• To fix problems and improve the Service.

Your name, city, profile photo and everything in your listings are visible to anyone who visits Wogene. Your email address is never shown to other users. Messages are visible only to the people in the conversation (and to our team if a conversation is reported or needed to enforce our rules).

We share information only with service providers that help us run Wogene, under agreements that limit their use of it:

• Supabase — database, sign-in and photo storage.
• Vercel — website hosting.
• Resend — sending emails.
• Payment processor (such as Stripe) — if you pay for a featured listing. We don’t store your card number.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone’s safety, or as part of a sale or merger of Wogene (in which case this policy would continue to apply).

• Edit your profile, listings and photos at any time.
• Turn message email alerts on or off in your Profile.
• Block anyone you don’t want to hear from.
• Delete your account from your Profile. This permanently removes your account, listings, photos and messages from our live systems; copies in backups are deleted on their normal schedule.
• Ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct or delete it, by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws.

We use encrypted connections, access rules that keep each person’s private data separate, and passwordless sign-in, so there are no Wogene passwords that could leak. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep the Google, Apple, Facebook or X account you sign in with secure. We keep your information for as long as your account is open, and delete it when you delete your account unless we need to keep something to meet a legal obligation or resolve a dispute.

Wogene is for adults 18 and older. We don’t knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we’ll remove it.
